Dennis Dahl has been cutting all types of opal for over 50 years. He is a master opal cutter with extensive experience in and knowledge of Black Opal, Boulder Opal, Crystal Opal, Mexican Opal, Opal Doublets, and Opal Triplets. In the shop, we also have Tim Morgan, an expert opal cutter and polisher trained by Dennis.

Polishing Dull and Abraded Opals
In this video, Tim repolishes a Mexican opal that has abraded over the years. Opals often need to be removed from the ring before polishing, in this case, the opal did not need to be removed.
With years of experience, knowledge of opals, the right equipment, and a delicate touch, Tim's re-polishing job makes this look like a new ring. (In the interest of brevity, this video cuts out many details.)
